A local church is a group of Christians who have committed to regularly gather with one another for the preaching of God's Word, fellowship, prayer, The Lord's Supper, and baptism. The church is defined by those who are believers in Jesus Christ. And the church is not man's institution, it is God's. God builds his church (Matthew 16:13-19).
At VBF, we have potential members go through our "First Step Class" as a way to learn about who we are as a church, what we value, and what it looks like to join the church. After that, people may choose to sign a fellowship covenant with one another to commit themselves to this local group of Christians gathering for the glory of God.
