Newborn - 23 Months Old
- The Service Experience
During the service, your child will have plenty of interaction, playtime, and a lesson built around a toddler’s developmental needs. Our nursery stories, songs, and mini-lessons focus on teaching your child that God made them and God loves them.
- What to Bring
One of our nursery volunteers will make sure that all your child’s belongings are labeled with their name and stored safely out of reach! You may bring a diaper bag, extra diaper, extra clothes and a pacifier. However, due to known and unknown allergies, we ask that no food enter the nursery and drinks be limited to bottles or sippy cups containing formula, milk, or water. We do have baby “Puffs” available for snack if needed. Please make your child’s leader aware of any allergies or other instructions.
- Wellness
We care about the health of your child and the other kids too! We ask that all kids who are experiencing a fever of 99 or above, vomiting, or have started taking an antibiotic within the last 24 hours, not come to class on that day. We will check temperatures at check-in.Additionally, we thoroughly clean and disinfect all classroom items on a regular basis.
- Nursing/Bottle Feeding/Diaper Changes
Our leaders will be happy to bottle feed your babies and change their diapers during service. However, moms (and dads) are welcome to use the rockers in the nursery or hallway to feed their babies. If you are a nursing mother, our leaders will close the door for your privacy. Moms and dads may also use the diaper changing facilities during services.
- Crying doesn’t bother us!
Don’t be alarmed if your child cries at drop-off or pick-up. We understand this is a natural and healthy sign that your child has a bond with you! Kids with different temperaments will react differently to separation, so there is no need to worry if you see other children waving “bye-bye” and going off to play. They may have a different way of soothing than your little one does. Our volunteers recognize that it takes time for some children to feel comfortable in a new environment with new people. They are trained to patiently care for your child. However, if we are unable to console or redirect your child after 10 minutes, we will text you!
