Hi VBF Family!
It’s been too long since Reeny and I have been with you! I was so anticipating this weekend’s service where we could reunite together, but as hungry as I am to fully engage in pastoral ministry and preaching, God had other plans with a storm that deserves our respect.
Therefore, the elders and staff determined that the best response was to cancel our Sunday service and allow the flock to ‘bunker up’ and prepare for a hurricane. With high winds, the chances of being able to maintain consistent power for wifi is slim. Therefore, we chose to cancel a live-stream service of any kind, and allow you to have your own time of devotion with God.
I feel like part of me has been missing for past five weeks, but God has been faithful to sustain Reeny and me, and my family through this difficult time. As always, there are lessons to learn when we go through a valley experience, I can’t wait to share what I’ve learned the next time we gather.
We have such an amazing church family. I am so thankful that God allows me to serve as the lead pastor of VBF. So, this weekend, get in the Word! Focus on Psalm 34 and let God expand your horizon to see just how great of a God He is! Then turn to Deuteronomy 31:6, and remind yourself how much more God has for us, if only we will trust Him and His Word. This is especially true when you’re in a storm! Moses took time to teach the children of Israel About the faithfulness of God in difficult situations. They were about to enter the promise land and God told Moses that he would not go with them. These are Moses’ words to the people, He turned them right back to God. 6 Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”
Church, God will never leave you or forsake you, especially in the storms of life.
7 Then Moses summoned Joshua and said to him in the sight of all Israel, “Be strong and courageous, for you shall go with this people into the land that the Lord has sworn to their fathers to give them, and you shall put them in possession of it. 8 It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.”
We will meet back together on Thursday night and next Sunday! So be strong and courageous, the Lord your God is with you!
You are loved!
Pastor Greg
