Over the last several weeks, you, like myself, have probably experienced many different emotions. Possibly fear, uncertainty, and even sadness. As my heart and mind have wandered to these places at times, I’ve really tried to stop and consider the Lord and His faithfulness to me.
Here are some of the things I’ve considered. Hebrews 13:8 tells me that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever! And 2 Timothy 2:13 says that even “if we are faithless, He remains faithful.”
These verses bring me comfort in knowing that although things around me may change, that Jesus Christ remains the same and is faithful to me!!
God has shown his faithfulness to me through his love. In Lamentations 3:21-22, the scripture tells me “But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases…” and in 1 Peter 2 He reminds me that He has called me out of darkness into his marvelous light! I consider this a beautiful act of love, knowing the price Jesus paid to bring me from that darkness into light! Then Jeremiah 31:3 says,”I have Loved you with an Everlasting Love” so I can be secure knowing God’s love is never ending!
Lastly, in one of my favorite passages in Jeremiah 29:11-13 the scripture says, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not evil, to give you a future and a hope.” It gives me great peace knowing my God is faithful and that he still has a good plan for my life even in the midst of the a scary time.
As I remember the faithfulness of God in His character, His Love, and His plan for my life I can rejoice with the Psalmist in Psalm 103:1-2 and say “Bless the Lord O my soul, and all that is within me, Bless his holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His Benefits”!!
