VBF Kids

At Vero Bible Fellowship we really love and value all our kids!
We are a multi-generational church where we value our children, our families, our young people, and our adults of all ages.
Sunday services always begin with everyone gathered together singing praises to God before the children are released to go to their own classes for a time of learning about the love, grace, justice, and nature of God.
A Note From our VBF Kids Ministry Director
We need to know that we are known and cared for. Our kids need this connection, too! VBF can be a caring extended family and it is our hope to build closer connections with you and your family than ever before.
We truly believe that every child is a gift from God with a unique personality and heart. We are here to teach kids and their families to love God, the Bible, one another, and themselves. We have created fun, safe, age-appropriate programs for your kids from birth to 5th grade to enjoy while you enjoy the service.
We are praying for you as you lead your kids. We are here for you. Please reach out let us know how we can support you.

VBF Kids Newborn - 23 Months OLD
The service experience
During the service, your child will have plenty of interaction, playtime, and a lesson built around a toddler’s developmental needs. Our nursery stories, songs, and mini-lessons focus on teaching your child that God made them and God loves them.
What to Bring
One of our nursery volunteers will make sure that all your child’s belongings are labeled with their name and stored safely out of reach! You may bring a diaper bag, extra diaper, extra clothes and a pacifier.
However, due to known and unknown allergies, we ask that no food enter the nursery and drinks be limited to bottles or sippy cups containing formula, milk, or water. We do have baby “Puffs” available for snack if needed. Please make your child’s leader aware of any allergies or other instructions
Wellness
We care about the health of your child and the other kids too! We ask that all kids who are experiencing a fever of 99 or above, vomiting, or have started taking an antibiotic within the last 24 hours, not come to class on that day. We will check temperatures at check-in.
Additionally, we thoroughly clean and disinfect all classroom items on a regular basis.
Nursing/Bottle Feeding/Diaper Changes
Our leaders will be happy to bottle feed your babies and change their diapers during service. However, moms (and dads) are welcome to use the rockers in the nursery or hallway to feed their babies. If you are a nursing mother, our leaders will close the door for your privacy. Moms and dads may also use the diaper changing facilities during services.
Crying doesn’t bother us!
Don’t be alarmed if your child cries at drop-off or pick-up. We understand this is a natural and healthy sign that your child has a bond with you! Kids with different temperaments will react differently to separation, so there is no need to worry if you see other children waving “bye-bye” and going off to play. They may have a different way of soothing than your little one does.
Our volunteers recognize that it takes time for some children to feel comfortable in a new environment with new people. They are trained to patiently care for your child. However, if we are unable to console or redirect your child after 10 minutes, we will text you!
VBF Kids Newborn - 2 Years Old
The service experience
Your two-year old loves to discover new things. Our hands-on lessons are fun and engaging, so they can learn about Jesus in bite-sized pieces. Our leaders will play, sing, teach the Bible verse for the month, and help them with activities that will make the Bible story memorable.
What to Bring
One of our volunteers will make sure that all your child’s belongings are labeled with their name and stored safely out of reach! You may bring a diaper bag, extra diaper or pull-up and extra clothes. We ask that you hang onto personal toys during the service, but if a comfort toy, blanket, or sippy cup is needed, let our volunteers know, and we will make an exception!
We do provide a snack and water during each service, but you may bring a special snack for your child if you prefer. Please make your child’s leader aware of any allergies or other instructions.

Bathroom Breaks
We are happy to change diapers and to help with your child’s potty-training efforts. Keep your child’s leader informed of progress and instructions! We will make every effort to recognize the signals your child may make to let us know a bathroom break is needed. Please let us know if your child has any special needs or considerations. We are happy to help!
For the safety of your child, a female volunteer will direct your child to the bathroom, stand outside the door, and help when necessary, with the door open, in view of another leader.

VBF Kids 3 Years OLD - 5 Years OLD
The Service Experience
Preschoolers love to discover new things! That’s why we provide fun, interactive experiences through which kids can learn about Jesus in bite-sized pieces each week. Your child will be introduced to small group-style teaching where a leader will help them engage in the lesson with other kids. We believe a consistent class is best for preschoolers, so we encourage you to attend as often as possible. It’s the best way for them to make friends and build a relationship with their leader.
What to Bring
You may bring a bag with extra clothes, underwear or pullup. We ask that you hang onto personal toys during the service, but if a comfort toy, blanket, or sippy cup is needed, let our volunteers know, and we will make an exception! We do provide a snack and water during each service, but you may bring a special snack for your child if you prefer. Please make your child’s leader aware of any allergies or special diet considerations.

Bathroom Breaks
Please take your child to the bathroom before VBF Kids are released from service. We will try to recognize the signals of your child to let us know a bathroom break is needed and will certainly allow them to go if they ask! We also ask children before and after snack time if they need a bathroom break. Please let us know if your child has any special needs or considerations. We are happy to help! For the safety of your child, a female volunteer will direct your child to the bathroom, stand outside the door, and help when necessary, with the door open, in view of another leader.
Take it Home
Every week you will receive a Parent Cue letting you know what your child learned in their group. This paper is a great way to connect what they are learning in church to their everyday world at home. Each week’s Parent Cue has conversation starters and simple things you can do to have “God Talks” with your kids during everyday activities such as drive time and bed time.
VBF Kids Kindergarten - 5th Grade
We do Big Group!
At the beginning of service, all kids join together with the adults for a time of music and worship. After VBF Kids are released to their own program, they will be introduced to our monthly theme with fun, engaging games, Bible stories, and object lessons. We keep it moving and keep it fun so your child stays engaged and remembers the main idea of the lesson.
We Do Small Group
After the big group time, kids are dismissed to their small groups where they can build relationships with other kids their age, have a consistent caring leader, and apply what they are learning from the Bible to everyday life.
Leaders promote an atmosphere of safety and acceptance so kids can talk, ask questions, and learn to listen to others. We believe that attending church consistently is key for building relationships in small groups and for growing a deep faith in God!
We Have Fun!
Elementary kids are motivated by having fun, and we want church to be something they look forward to each week. That’s why we do our best to create environments where they can have fun! In addition to big group and small group times on Sundays, we have Family Events throughout the year. Join us at these events for some extra learning and fun for the whole family!

Its is important to us that we welcome every family and every child. We make efforts to include children with various special needs in our programs. If you have a child with special considerations, please fill out a Parent Questionnaire and return it to Registration. With this information, we will partner with you to help your child feel cared for and comfortable during services, while learning to grow in faith with their peers.
