Focus, Focus, Focus!

“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” Philippians 4:8

Yes, it’s easier said than done when we’re facing or in the midst of very difficult circumstances, but allowing our focus to linger on the challenges will do nothing but keep us in despair. In everything we face, trust God already knew what was ahead. He alone is our surest resolve. His power and authority are limitless as well as His ability to work all things accordingly—always for purpose; always for good! He who holds it all in His hands, remains in control, but it’s a matter of walking in faith and not allowing our emotions to pull us farther down.

“You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock,” Isaiah 26:3-4

It brings to mind the lyrics of “Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus”—Turn your eyes upon Jesus,

look full in His wonderful face, and the things of earth will grow strangely dim, in the light of His glory and grace.”

There is no other place we are safest than in the arms of our Defender and Savior!
