Look Where You Want to Go

In motorcycle training, the rule is, “Look where you want the motorcycle to go.” If you want to make a certain turn in an exercise, turn your head and look where you want to go. It is a good rule and it rule can be applied to daily living.

Where are you looking these days? Are you looking to the evening news and how bad everything is? Are you looking at the long lines at the grocery store? When you get into the store, can you see the items you went to buy? There might be no toilet paper or hand sanitizer and you might only be able to purchase a certain amount of what you need. Do you notice drivers who are rude on the roadway? And certainly, you have encountered unfriendly the folks are while you wait in line.

I had to call a certain business the other day and the employee on the other end of the line asked, “How are you doing?” My reply, “I am doing super!” He was shocked! He went on to tell me I was the first person that whole day who had replied with an upbeat happy reply. How sad!

Where am I looking? I AM LOOKING where I want to go and that is with Jesus. Right now, every day, every moment, I am looking at Jesus, and that is where I am headed, my friend!

How about you, my friend? Where are you looking? Pastor Greg referred to this verse during a recent live stream of our VBF worship service, “Rejoice in the Lord always, again, I will say, rejoice. (5) Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. THE LORD IS AT HAND, (6) DO NOT BE ANXIOUS ABOUT ANYTHING, (including the corona virus) BUT IN EVERYTHING BY PRAYER AND SUPPLICATION WITH THANKSGIVING LET YOUR REQUESTS BE MADE KNOWN TO GOD.” This next verse is where you and I need to be looking. (7) “AND THE PEACE OF GOD, WHICH SURPASSES ALL UNDERSTANDING, WILL GUARD YOUR HEARTS AND MINDS IN CHRIST JESUS.”

Here are some additional verses that will help you with that “head turn.”

John 14:27 PEACE I leave with you; my peace I give you.

Psalm 55:22 Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will NEVER permit the righteous to be moved!

Psalm 103:1 Bless the Lord, oh my soul and ALL that is within me bless his holy name!

I Thessalonians 5:16 BE joyful always, PRAY continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Psalm 100: 1-2 SHOUT for joy to the Lord, all the earth. (2)) Serve the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.

Be blessed today, my friend!
